4WD Off Road Skills Course

 A one day hands-on course that will give you the fundamental 4WD skills you need to drive off-road with confidence.  It will prepare you for any off road driving situation, even those you didn’t know could occur.

This nationally recognised off road training course is delivered by Getabout Training Services and includes the comprehensive Getabout Training 4WD Guide Book.

You’ll learn how to:

• take your 4WD vehicle over different terrains – from sand and slopes to dirt and ditches
• safely cross water
• recover your vehicle if it gets bogged
• change a wheel
• drive to minimise your impact on the environment 

How it works

When you register for the course, we’ll post the Guide Book to you. You’ll get plenty of time to read it as prep before your driver training day, and you’ll complete some short written exercises based on your reading.

On the day of your training, bring your 4WD vehicle and we’ll review your answers and discuss any questions – then it’s time to get behind the wheel!

We have a maximum instructor-student ratio of 1:6, so you’ll receive personalised training to get the skills you need.
